Project Based Learning Through 3-D Design

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

The students from the Mashpee Technology Center will demonstrate how 3D computer software and hardware can be utilized to develop a rich understanding of cross-disciplinary concepts in a student-centered technology classroom. They will demonstrate how, when faced with a design challenge, they are able to work independently, and collaboratively, to solve real-world problems using state-of-the-art technology. The students will lead workshop attendees through various software applications to create 2-D and 3-D models on the computer. Additionally, and throughout the workshop, the students will discuss how their self-confidence and creativity has increased as they master the use of the applications. Demonstrations will include the use of software and hardware in 3D Printing, Architectural and Mechanical CAD design, 3D Animation, Automated Manufacturing and Computer Game Programming.
Students will lead attendees through the use of 3-D software being utilized in their classroom. By using these software applications in project based learning activities, the students are able to build self-confidence, creativity and a rich understanding of cross-disciplinary concepts while working through real-world design challenges.
